Riders Cafe

Located right next to Bukit Timah Saddle Club, Riders Cafe is a popular restaurant for brunch. The restaurant is usually fully packed on the weekends, and diners should make reservations before heading down at least a day before.

Their Pacific Benedict is a must-try, made with swimmer crab, eggs and topped with spinach and shrimp hollandaise sauce. Otherwise, feast on the power-packed Breakfast Burger, which comes with a sausage patty, scrambled eggs, mushrooms, spicy aioli, and American cheese. The nearest bus stop is at Sixth Avenue, a 20-minute walk away.

Address: 51 Fairways Drive, Singapore 286965

555 Villa Thai

Situated next to the Changi Airport runway, 555 Villa Thai offers authentic Siamese cuisine with open-air seating, decorated to mimic a restaurant in Thailand.

With a tuk-tuk parked in the eatery, the restaurant offers Mookata, a charcoal grill served with marinated meats and seafood, along with various ala-carte Thai dishes such as Tom Yum Soup. You will have to walk approximately 10 minutes from the nearest bus stop to 555 Villa Thai.

Address: 30 Cosford Road, Singapore 499550

Beaulieu House

A seaside restaurant managed by Sembawang Seafood Paradise, Beaulieu House serves a wide range of dishes including Western cuisine, Chinese seafood and local delights.

Located in a beautiful colonial-era building in Sembawang Park, the restaurant overlooks the Johore Straits’ blue waters. The must-try at Beaulieu House include their Superior Soy Sauce Chicken, which requires advance booking, Braised Pork Knuckle with Oyster, and Chicken Drumlets in Special Sauce.

Address: 117 Beaulieu Rd, Singapore 759837

Woody Family Cafe

A contrast to the colourful lights inside the eatery, lush greenery surrounds Woody Family Cafe as you turn into Andrews Avenue off Sembawang Road.

Traditional Peranakan dishes, passed down by the owner’s mother, are reimagined before being served at the restaurant. Must-try includes Nasi Ulam, which comprises 16 different herbs tossed in steamed rice, and the Garam Assam Pork Knuckles. Thankfully, taking bus 882 from opposite Sembawang MRT will drop you off just two minutes away from the cafe.

Address: 12F Andrews Avenue, Singapore 759930

Cafe Colbar

Cafe Colbar, short for Colonial Bar, used to be a British Army’s canteen back in 1953.

Preserving the building's structure, the cafe will bring forth a wave of nostalgia, offering both Western and Asian food on its menu. The simple Chicken Curry Rice is a familiar taste while the Hor Fun comes packed with the aromatic wok hei. While it is quite a distance from the nearest MRT at Commonwealth, the nearest bus stop is just two minutes walk away.

Address: 9A Whitchurch Rd, Singapore 138839

The Coastal Settlement

Sitting at the far end of Changi, The Coastal Settlement is a quaint, casual dining restaurant, café and bar, surrounded by lush greenery. Take your pick between indoor or alfresco dining; the cosy interior is filled with little vintage memorabilia such as vinyl players and typewriters.

Offering both local and western cuisine, the restaurant offers a wide variety of dishes for their diners. Try their TCS Nasi Campur, topped with beef rendang, crispy chicken, sambal lady’s finger, and more, or if you are there for their weekend brunch, the Settlement’s Big Breakfast, which comes with creamed mushroom, maple glazed bacon, tater tots, chicken cheese sausage, and more.

Address: 200 Netheravon Rd, Singapore 508529

La Braceria Pizza and Grill

Nestled in a residential area at Greendale, La Braceria Pizza and Grill is an Italian restaurant hidden away from the main road. You can expect to walk about 15 minutes from the nearest MRT station, Tan Kah Kee station, to get to the restaurant.

Offering both indoor and alfresco dining at La Braceria Pizza and Grill, the minimalist interior and cosy ambience add on to the experience of dining at the restaurant. Try their Spaghetti alle Vongole, which is spaghetti tossed with clams in white wine sauce, and Fettucine Norcina, especially if you are a truffle lover. Remember to reserve before heading down.

Address: 5 Greendale Ave, Singapore 289501
