PUTRAJAYA: Umno will fill it’s 71st Anniversary celebration with religious activities to observe the Nifsu Syaaban (the 15th day of the month of Syaaban).
Umno secretary-general Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor said there will also be a live streaming of the party’s anniversary celebration.
“This year's Umno’s anniversary will be different with the previous years. Since it is happening on Thursday (May 11) and Nifsu Syaaban will fall on that night, we will focus on religious activities.
“The Umno president (Datuk Seri Najib Razak) will also be delivering his speech, which will be made available via live streaming,” he told reporters after presenting excellent awards to Putrajaya school students who excelled in 2016 Ujian Pencapaian Sekolah Rendah (UPSR), Form Three Assessment (PT3), Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) and Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM), today.
The Umno’s 71st Anniversary is scheduled to be held at Putra World Trade Centre on May 11.
Meanwhile, Tengku Adnan, who is also Federal Territories Minister, said Umno is always prepared to face the 14th General Election.
“We are always ready but we need to wait instruction from our president.
“We have mobilised our machinery at each state.” he said.
At today's event, more than 150 UPSR, PT3, SPM and STPM Putrajaya top scorers received awards from the minister at the Putrajaya International Convention Centre.
Tengku Adnan also presented RM20,000 each to 25 outstanding schools in Putrajaya.
