TAIPING: Police today diffused a 60mm mortar shell found near the Sungai Ranting waterfall in Taman Suria, here.
District police chief Assistant Commissioner Harrith Kam Abdullah said a 64-year-old man, who was conducting a maintenance work at the area, spotted the bomb around 3pm yesterday.
"It was an old bomb. The shell was rusty and partly buried in the ground. The man only reported the discovery to us today.
