We thought we’d heard everything.

That was, of course, until Hotel Zed released its baby-making package. Yes, we had questions, too.

The Canadian hotel is offering free Valentine’s Day stays for the next 18 years to any couple who makes a baby in their room this Valentine’s Day.

That’s one way to put pressure on hopeful parents.

The official name for the package is The Nooner, and the hotel has been running the promotion for the past five years in a row.

It must be popular.

The Nooner package isn’t an overnight stay, in fact, it’s just four hours from 10am - 2pm to enjoy some, er, quality time.

“Everyone is so bored of overpriced roses and stale chocolates. Shouldn't Valentine's Day be about turning up the heat? We think so.” Hotel Zed says.

It then goes onto explain that if you book the nooner and end up making a baby during your time there, you get a free Valentine’s Day stay for the next 18 years.

It explains how it welcomes everybody to the baby nooner special: “regardless of gender expression, gender identity and sexual orientation. We know that the stork can take many routes to bring a baby into your family. As long as a new child has been welcomed into the family nine months after your Nooner, we'll be celebrating with you!”

The package is available at its two hotels in Victoria and Kelowna.

It’s only available on Valentine’s Day and since it has been running for the last five years, it’s likely you’ll be sharing the hotel with some of The Nooner’s alumni.

At the very least, it’d be an interesting story to tell the children when they ask why you keep going back to the same hotel every year.

If you would rather extend The Nooner to an overnight stay, you can do that as well as part of the offer.

2020 is the year of the alternative Valentine’s Day plans, so it’s only fitting that Hotel Zed would re-introduce this novelty stay.

We’ve had chicken nugget bouquets and ketchup chocolate already. What’s the harm in adding an afternoon of baby making into the mix?

And hey, even if you don’t want to spend your Valentine’s Day with anybody, spending four hours in a room on your own with a good book isn’t the worst idea in the world.
