From Good Housekeeping

Some like flowers, others like chocolate, and some prefer booze for their Valentine's Day treat. And what better way to say 'I love you' than with a bottle of something special.

Prosecco and Champagne seems like the obvious choice. After all, popping corks, frothing mousse and clinking glasses are firmly embedded in the Valentine’s Day rituals.

GH Wine & Spirits specialist, Alexandra Hale has recommended a few options, that deliver that 'wow' factor, at great value for money.

First, an excellent Prosecco available from Tesco, that's reasonably priced with notes of sweet green apples and ripe pears.

The second is a Magnum from Aldi, at incredible value. Wotwine describe the Ca' di Pietra Prosecco Treviso as fresh, fruity fizz with flavours of ripe, sweet apples and lemon drizzle cake - yummy.

For those on a budget but looking for a drier, more complex wine, Cremant du Jura can be a superb value option. It is made using the same method as Champagne, and comes from the mountains on the French/Swiss border.
