Victoria Beckham has delighted fans by posting a shirtless snap of husband David Beckham in tiny pink printed swim shorts while on holiday in Italy.

The photo was taken near Positano in southern Italy's Amalfi Coast while on a luxury yacht trip, with David, 47, striking a pose on the deck.

The footballer can be seen smiling, hands on hip, looking toned and tattoos on show, with a backdrop of blue sea and sky.

"YOU’RE WELCOME!!!!!," former Spice Girl Victoria, 48, cheekily captioned the Instagram post. "Kisses from Positano @davidbeckham."

The pair celebrated their wedding anniversary earlier this month, on 4 July.

Fans didn't hold back their appreciation. "Very kind of you to share," wrote one, while another commented, "Thank you Mrs Beckham!!!!!!"

"It's like a lil polka dot bikini," joked another, while others acknowledged how good he looked.

Meanwhile, David exposed his wife in his own way, sharing an amusing Instagram video of her walking past the window doing leg lunges and squats, with the caption, "WAIT FOR IT can’t even have a coffee without lunging Vic."

"Looks like I lost my training partner this holiday David!" she commented, while their personal trainer Bobby Rich wrote, Getting them gainz! You sit tight and enjoy that cuppa dear boy."

Their Italian getaway comes after a trip to Croatia, with Victoria sharing a sweet snap of David with their daughter Harper, 11.

While he may seem to have fallen behind Victoria with so-called 'leg day' on their travels, and hasn't played professionally for years, David has still maintained his athletic physique, proved by the snap in his swim shorts.

David Beckham's fitness regime

So, what does his fitness routine look like when he's back home?

"My weekly routine is, you know, I get up to do the school run, and then I get the workout in and go into the office," he told Men's Health.

"I could never keep up with the level of the workouts I was doing when I was playing professional football. And obviously, I'm getting older now as well."

Beckham told the magazine that while he's tried cycling, lifting and many other ways of keeping fit since retiring in 2013, he missed the team aspect of training.

"I need to train with people," he said. "I'm not very good at training on my own, so I need to be motivated by people in a community environment."

So, when he's not busy training (or competing) alongside Victoria, he has partnered with with the high-intensity interval studio chain F45 to design a class with celebrity trainer Gunnar Peterson, based on some of David's old go-to's.

Peterson described Beckham's training as "so comprehensive".

"If you look at soccer, the change of direction, the multi-direction and the multiple planes – there are certain shots that are off-balance, where your body's in a different position or at different angles," he said.

The class the pair designed includes 11 moves, each done for two sets for two rounds. In the first, the exercises last 32 seconds, with 15 seconds of rest. In the second, the 'work: rest' ratio is 23 seconds on, 20 seconds off.

The four exercise types consist of 'single-dumbbell or kettlebell alternating clean', 'barbell Romanian deadlift with underhand row', dumbbell box drop with forward lunge' and 'sandbag sumo squat to biceps curl to shoulder press'.

And even Beckham, who of course does the class too, admitted he doesn't find it easy. “Some of these movements, I haven’t done them since I was a player. So when I was in the London studio doing this… at the end, I said, ‘I need to apologise to everyone that was in this class with me.'"

And while he memorably outed Victoria for only eating grilled fish and steamed vegetables for 25 years, his diet has a bit more range.

"I get quite emotional about food and wine, when I'm eating something great I want everyone to try it," he said on the River Cafe Table 4 podcast to host Ruthie Rogers.

"Unfortunately I'm married to someone that has eaten the same thing for the last 25 years. Since I met her she only eats grilled fish, steamed vegetables, she will very rarely deviate away from there."

Known as a good cook, he went on to talk about one memorable meal he'd made and treated himself to, which consisted of "two most amazing cuts of meat", a T-bone and some English wagyu, "a nice tomato and shallot salad" and "the most amazing red wine".

As well as Harper, David and Victoria Beckham share Brooklyn, 23, Romeo, 19 and Cruz, 17.
