Australian icebreaker stuck in Antarctica

An Australian icebreaker, the Aurora Australis, is stuck in sea ice off the coast of Antarctica near Davies Research Station. "The ship, which left Hobart in mid-October, has enough supplies and fuel to last for some time with no risk of food or water running low,” said Dr Tony Fleming, Australian Antarctic Division Director. This time-lapse video shows ice encroaching on the ship from November 18-24. Credit: Australian Antarctic Division
