Australian Navy Shows Off Newest Destroyers, Hobart and Brisbane

The most expensive defense program in Australia’s history grows closer to delivering two of three ships for active duty. The Hobart, named for the capital city of Tasmania, was first in the water; the second, Brisbane, named for Queensland’s capital, remains under construction. Both are seen in this video. A third, the Sydney, is expected on duty in 2018. The destroyers are intended primarily to defend other vessels from airborne attack. Credit: YouTube/Air Warfare Destroyer Alliance
