Baghdad Blasts Kill More Than 20

At least 11 people were killed and 18 injured when a vehicle exploded in the Shaab neighborhood of Baghdad on May 30, according to local reports. The blast hit a security checkpoint for Shia militia in the area. Three soldiers were said to be among the dead.

This video shows the aftermath of the explosion.

Islamic State reportedly claimed responsibility for the blast in a tweet shared widely on social media.

Also on May 30, a suicide bomber targeted a market in Tarmiyah, a town north of Baghdad, killing at least 10.
