Baltimore Police Update on the Freddie Gray Investigation

Baltimore Police Commissioner Anthony Batts confirmed that a Baltimore man, who died after sustaining a spinal injury while in police custody, was not wearing a seat belt in the prisoner transport van. Batts, speaking at a press conference on April 24, said the investigation into the death of Freddie Gray would continue.

Batts also offered support to peaceful protests over the death of Gray, but voiced concern over people traveling to Baltimore with the intention of creating “chaos” in the Maryland city.
