Barloo the Wombat Wriggles Up Against a Scratching Post
A wombat in residence at a Gundaroo sanctuary, in November, appeared to show some dance moves when it stopped to scratch an itch. Named Barloo, the wombat was caught “working it” for the camera, wriggling to relieve the itch.
Wombats have tougher skin on their rump as a form of protection in case of attack by a predator, making it harder to scratch, the sanctuary’s keeper Donna Stepan said.
