Blue Bell CEO Apologizes for Product Recall Over Listeria Scare

Blue Bell Creameries chief executive and president Paul Kruse apologized to customers in a video message on Monday, April 20, after the Texas-based ice cream company issued a voluntary product recall. Blue Bell Creameries announced the recall on Monday after samples of ice cream from its Brenham, Texas, plant tested positive for Listeria monocytogenes bacteria.

“We’re committed to doing the 100 percent right thing, and the best way to do that is to take all of our products off the market until we are confident that they are all safe,” said Kruse, in a statement. “At every step, we have made decisions in the best interest of our customers based on the evidence we had available at the time.” Credit: Vimeo/ Blue Bell Creameries
