Brazilian Armed Forces Carry Coffins Into Chapecoense Wake

Members of Brazil’s armed forces carried the coffins of the members of the football club Chapecoense, who died in a tragic plane crash, into Chapeco’s Arena Conda on Saturday, December 3.

Brazilian Air Force aircraft transported 50 coffins to the southern city on Saturday morning, while families, friends and thousands of people gathered for the arrival of the bodies of their heroes despite a downpour. President Michel Temer flew from Brasilia to Chapeco to receive the caskets, according to Globo.

A chartered flight operated by LaMia crashed near Medellin on Monday evening, November 29, killing 71 passengers and crew. Only six people, including three Chapecoense members, survived.
