Collapsed Suspension Bridge Seen in Aftermath of Tinau River Flood

Flash-flooding on the Tinau River in Butwal, Nepal, on July 25 undermined the foundation of a suspension bridge that linked the towns of Buddhanagar and Devinagar, sweeping it into the water, according to local reports. This video shows the flooded river’s path after the collapse of the bridge.

Flash-floods in regions of Nepal and India have killed almost 70 people over the last three days, and caused extensive damage to crops and farms, including, notably, the loss of 80 ostriches. Credit: Amrit Shahi
