Fifth seed Pablo Cuevas won through to round two at the Hamburg Open, but sixth seed Juan Monaco was knocked out by Lucas Pouille in his second-round match on Wednesday (29 July). Second seed Tommy Robredo lost to Benoit Paire in the second round of the Hamburg Open on Wednesday (29 July), while Fabio Fognini advanced against Albert Ramos-Vinolas.
