EU Leaders Agree $2Bn Loan to Ukraine

European leaders met in Riga, Latvia, on May 21 and 22 to discuss ties between the EU and six former Soviet states – Georgia, Moldova, Ukraine, Belarus, Armenia, and Azerbaijan. At the summit, EU leaders signed a $2 billion loan to help revive Ukraine’s economy. Pro-EU demonstrators from Ukraine were among those flying flags outside the summit meeting.
