Former Manchester United goalkeeper Alex Stepney paid tribute to Eusebio, who died aged 71 from a heart attack on Sunday. Stepney made a crucial save from Benfica's Eusebio towards the end of normal time in the 1968 European Cup final, which the striker applauded. With the match tied at 1-1 after 90 minutes, the Mozambique-born striker's side were eventually beaten 4-1 in extra time. The Portuguese legend won the European Cup in 1962 with Benfica, was named the European Footballer of the Year in 1965 and finished the 1966 World Cup as the tournament's top scorer with nine goals.
