Government Forces Come Under Fire as Ceasefire Breached in Shyrokyne

Radio Free Europe reported on May 27 what it called “dramatic evidence of the ceasefire in Ukraine being violated”. Footage shot on May 24 shows a dramatic battle that took place in the village of Shyrokyne, east of Mariupol, in violation of February’s ceasefire agreement. The ceasefire in the town has been breached on several occasions in past months.

Ukrainian Armed Forces said that a Donetsk People’s Republic vehicle hit a mine, killing its four occupants, on Sunday, the OSCE’s monitoring group in the region reported. The pro-government forces denied they had fired on the vehicle.
