Iraqi Army Advances Against Islamic State in Fallujah

Iraqi Forces started advancing towards Fallujah city against Islamic State on May 30, according to local reports.

The forces recaptured areas from ISIS including Nuaimiya, reports said.

A video posted by a local Facebook page is described as showing the first moments of storming Fallujah city on May 30.

Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi announced on Sunday, May 22, the beginning of a major military push to retake the city of Fallujah from IS. The announcement was followed by reports of heavy shelling on Fallujah, one of the first Iraqi cities to fall to IS, in January 2014.
