Irish Nanny Cleared of US Murder Charge Arrives Home

Irish nanny Aisling Brady McCarthy arrived home on September 2 after US prosecutors dropped murder charges against her on August 31 in relation to a one-year-old child who died while in her care. She was released when the medical examiner in the case, after gathering new evidence, changed its ruling of the cause of death from “homicide” to “undetermined.”

Brady McCarthy, 37, had been accused of killing the child in Cambridge, Massachusetts, in January 2013. She was imprisoned for two-and-a-half years and spent four months under house arrest awaiting trial. She was deported after her release, having spent 11 years living illegally in the US before her arrest. Credit: Twitter/RTE News
