Irish Pilot Has the 'Craic' With Fans Flying to Euro 2016 Game

The pilot of a Ryanair flight taking Irish soccer fans to a crucial 2016 UEFA European Championship game against the host country in France on June 26 took time out before takeoff to chat with fans in the cabin. Captain Greg Browne joked over the intercom: “We don’t have an air traffic control spot. I thought they were going to delay us because they don’t want you there.”

He advised the passengers to be as loud as they could and have “loads of beer” on the 6am flight, getting a round of applause. Credit: Twitter/Declan Pierce
