Kerry Pledges Additional $9M for Nepal Quake Support

The death toll rose past 3,300 on Monday, April 27, two days after a 7.9-magnitude earthquake struck Nepal. That number is expected to rise as rescue workers begin reaching vulnerable mountain villages to asses the damage, according to the AP.
US Secretary of State John Kerry on April 27 pledged to send $9 million dollars in aid to the devastated country. An initial $1 million was provided to rescue and recovery operations on April 25.
