Marijuana Campaigner and Former Newsreader to Sue After Police Raid

Former television reporter and legal marijuana activist Charlo Greene says she will sue the state of Alaska for “several million dollars” after police raided the Alaska Cannabis Club on Friday, March 20.

The club, operated by Greene, was raided after police received reports of illegal marijuana sales. Alaskans approved a ballot measure last year to legalize the recreational use of marijuana, however, it is still illegal to sell the drug in the state.

Greene gained international attention last September when she quit her job as a television presenter so she could fight for the legalization of marijuana across America.

Speaking to KTVA in Anchorage, Alaska, after the raid on the cannabis club, Green said, “This is basically a medical marijuana dispensary.”
