Migrant Woman With Severe Burns Airlifted by Italian Coast Guard

Two women described as migrants in medical distress were rescued by the Italian coastguard on Sunday, June 26. One woman had severe burns on 40 percent of her body and the other suffered from serious medical conditions. The women were brought aboard the CP323 patrol boat of the Syracuse coast guard of Sicily, according to the video’s description.

One of the women can be seen being airlifted in a small metal basket attached to the AW139 plane of the Catania coast guard before being taken for emergency treatment in the capital.
