Migrants Prevented From Returning to Tents; Extra Age Checks Enforced in Calais

A series of videos uploaded on Tuesday, October 25, show young people undergoing a second age check at the processing centre at the “Jungle Camp” for refugees in Calais, France, as well as another migrant being prevented from returning to his tent to collect his belongings, according to the activist group Refugee Info Bus.

Additional footage shows the demolition process underway, as temporary houses at the camp, home to an estimated 6,500 residents, were demolished. The refugee activist group, based in Calais, has been sharing video and images showing the demolition of the camp since French authorities began processing migrants on Monday, October 24.

More than 1,000 police and officials in France were involved in the operation to clear the makeshift camp, according to reports. Credit: Twitter/Refugee Info Bus
