Police in Standoff Against ANC Protesters as Clashes Break Out in Cape Town

Police in Cape Town fired stun grenades to disperse violent protests in the city’s central business district ahead of President Jacob Zuma’s State of the Nation address on February 11. There were clashes reported between various groups, including supporters of Zuma’s ruling African National Congress and of the opposition Economic Freedom Fighters.
