Protesters Drive Truck Into Guerrero's Congress Building Over Missing Students

Protests over 43 missing college students turned violent in Chilpancingo, Mexico, on Sunday, April 26, as demonstrators gathered to mark seven months since their disappearance.

Protesters threw stones and Molotov cocktails at riot police, who in turn deployed tear gas to disperse the crowds. Two delivery vehicles also drove into the Guerrero state congress building, as seen in this video. At least six trucks were also set alight.

News reports said demonstrators included relatives of the missing, students and teachers from the State Coordinating Committee of Education Workers of Guerrero (CETEG), and members of the National People’s Congress (NPC). Credit: Vine/Ezequiel Flores
