Occupy protesters, who have been protesting in London’s Parliament Square since last Friday, were joined by celebrities including film director Ken Loach, fashion designer Vivienne Westwood, and artist Mark McGowan, also known as Artist Taxi Driver, on Thursday, October 23.
The protest, which was planned to last nine days, has been staged against a number of austerity measures. Recently its focus also shifted to the Police Reform and Social Responsibility Act 2011, which “is aimed at stopping overnight sleepers”, after police moved to disassemble the encampment, according to reports.
