Red Cross Assisting Flooding Evacuees in Texas

The American Red Cross chapter in Dallas-Fort Worth has been assisting residents in Wichita Falls, Texas, who were evacuated because of the flooding in the community. This video posted on May 21 shows the efforts the chapter is making in response to severe weather in Texas, including Wichita Falls.

City officials evacuated residents along the swollen Wichita River on the morning of May 21, and heavy rain threatened more flooding on May 22, according to local reports. The National Weather Service has extended its flood warning for the area until May 24. The river is expected to rise to 21.3 feet, and an additional 4-7 inches of rain is predicted through May 25.
