Riot Police Disperse Israeli-Ethiopian Protesters From Rabin Square

A protest led by Israeli Jews of Ethiopian descent turned violent in Tel Aviv on Sunday, May 3. Police reportedly fired stun grenades and tear gas to disperse the crowds gathered in Rabin Square, which earlier blocked Tel Aviv’s main highway in a march against police brutality. Israeli police reported 20 police officers were injured in clashes with demonstrators.

The rally follows a similar protest in Jerusalem last week that turned violent
