Rocky Wildfire Grows as State of Emergency Declared in California

A giant wildfire in northern California has forced mandatory evacuations and has already destroyed three structures. The Rocky Fire stood at 15,000 acres burned and 5 percent contained on July 31 near Lower Lake. The fire first started burning on July 29, but no cause has been listed. There are nearly 500 buildings threatened by the fire and hundreds of people have been displaced, according to local media.
