Six Arrested at Sam DuBose March in Cincinnati

At least six people were arrested during a rally and march in Cincinnati on July 31 for SamDuBose, an unarmed black man fatally shot during a police traffic stop earlier in July. This footage shows the arrests near Fountain Square and a portion of the march.

The evening started with a candlelight vigil called Light Up the Night for Sam Dubose at Hamilton County Courthouse. Protesters then marched through the city to Fountain Square, according to local media. Tensions between protesters and police rose in Fountain Square, where police started making arrests.

Police said six were arrested, but Black Lives Matter Cincinnati at first said on Facebook eight were arrested. The organization has since revised the number to six and said it’s fundraising for a legal defense.

Following DuBose’s death, University of Cincinnati Police Officer Ray Tensing was indicted by a grand jury for murder charges on July 29, and dashcam footage was released. Tensing pleaded not guilty. Officers Phillip Kidd and David Lindenschmidt also were placed on paid leave as the incident is further investigated. Credit: YouTube/JRay513Tv
