Two Men Attempt to Steal Dirt Bike at NYC Red Light

New York City police are seeking a suspect in the assault of a dirt bike rider and the attempted theft of the bike while the driver was stopped at a red light on June 5. Police released a surveillance video and photo of the suspect in hopes members of the public will have information.

The video shows a the 24-year-old victim stop at the light when the two suspects approach him, punch him and take the bike away from him. One of the suspects was apprehended by responding police when he attempted to flee the scene on the bike.

Police said there were no reported injuries as a result of the incident.

Police said the suspect who fled the scene is described as a dark-skinned male in his mid 20s, standing 5 foot nine inches tall, weighing 180 pounds with long, dark hair.
