UEFA allow Courtois to play in Champions League semi final

The draw for the UEFA Champions League semi-finals saw Atletico Madrid and Chelsea paired together, meaning the hotly discussed issue over goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois' availability became a reality. The Belgian is on loan at Ateltico from Chelsea with media reports suggesting there was a clause in the deal stating the Spanish side would have to pay Courtois' parent club a significant sum of money if he played against them. Shortly before the draw, UEFA released a statement regarding the issue saying as far as they were concerned the Belgian had to be available for selection.
