Ukrainian Forces Block Entry to Donetsk During Denounced ‘pseudo-Elections’

Ukraine forces secured a checkpoint outside the city of Avdiivka, in the Donetsk Oblast of Ukraine, on November 2, as residents of the separatist-controlled, self-declared Donetsk People’s Republic and Luhansk People’s Republic regions of eastern Ukraine voted to elect legislators and executives in polls that have have been denounced by the international community.

President Petro Poroshenko took to Facebook on Sunday to denounce the elections being held in the regions, saying, “The pseudo-elections in occupied areas of Donetsk and Lugansk regions have nothing to do with representative democracy and violate the Minsk Agreements. Neither Ukraine nor the rest of the civilized world recognize this farce. I hope sincerely that Russia will not recognize these pseudo-elections either. Any elections in Ukraine, at which Ukrainian citizens vote, must be held exclusively in accordance with Ukrainian laws.” Credit: YouTube/Military TV Ukraine
