Video Shows Crossings Mall Bridge Destroyed by West Virginia Floods

The West Virginia Department of Transportation built a temporary bridge to rescue hundreds of shoppers stranded at shopping mall in Elkview after Thursday’s deadly flood washed away a bridge. WSAZ reported around 500 people had been trapped by the flood water at the Crossings Plaza mall since Thursday afternoon.

Governor Earl Ray Tomblin declared a state of emergency in 44 counties in response to Thursday’s flooding that killed at least 23 people.
