WFP Reports That 2.5 Million People Are Facing Acute Hunger

The World Food Programme (WFP) has reported that two million people have been forced out of their homes since the South Sudan conflict began in December 2013. According to the organization, an estimated 2.5 million women, children and men are now facing acute hunger.

Without an end to the conflict in sight, WFP said it fears “food insecurity will only get worse as we move into the lean season.” WFP’s executive director, Ertharin Cousin, recently visited the conflict-hit country and is featured in this video report. Credit: YouTube\WFP
