WFP Struggles to Reach to Vulnerable Populations in Yemen

More than 1.7 million have received emergency food assistance from the World Food Programme since armed conflict intensified in Yemen in April 2015, the relief agency said on May 22. In a statement released on May 19, WFP said the five-day humanitarian pause by the Saudi-led coalition only allowed it to deliver food to half of the 738,000 people it had planned to reach. WFP called for more regular ceasefires to allow food distribution.
