Without Selma, Obama Would Not Be in the White House: Congressman John Lewis

Congressman John Lewis delivered a video address to commemorate 50 years since the Selma marches and Bloody Sunday in 1965. Lewis is took part in the Selma to Montgomery march and was injured by police.“I was hit, beaten, knocked down, left bloody, unconscious. I thought I saw death, I thought I was going to die”, Lewis said.

Lewis called on young people to “stand up, speak up, speak out” to “make our country, our world, a better place”.
