A speaker system used to be a really complicated thing to gift. You needed to buy a ton of components separately and really know your giftee's space. Most of the time, you'd be better off hiring a pricey service to come in and wire everything; otherwise, what you really gave your loved one was a headache. Enter the soundbar. These streamlined devices are as simple to install as a Roku, and they amplify audio for crystal clear, whole-house listening. This popular Vizio model — on sale right now for just $148 — comes with six speakers and a wireless subwoofer for a truly cinematic experience. The main bar slides under the TV; no need to mount it on the wall. We love that it syncs easily to your phone or other devices via Bluetooth to play music, and works with Alexa, Siri or Google Assistant for hands-free entertainment. One happy shopper who called it "totally awesome" added, "It sounds like I have a theater in my home! I'm just blown away — you have to try this." Talk about easy listening!
Kids today just want to make content. To bond with them, you've got to meet them where they're at — and, FYI, that's on TikTok. Whether their passion is makeup, music, video games or cooking, they'll love you if you help them step up their screen visage. This all-in-one kit from Bower has everything they need to shoot high-quality videos on their phones: a ring light for the perfect glow, a tripod for hands-free filming and a green screen for limitless background editing potential. If you're lucky, they might be so impressed that they let you in on the action.
You could steal this grandfather's adorable idea and use it yourself for long-distance lasagna lessons: "I bought this to help me create my own cooking videos for my grandkids so they could learn how to make their favorite grandparent's recipes," he writes. "They were very impressed with the production quality, and viewing the results myself, I highly recommend this for anyone making a video presentation. Worth every penny!" If that's not the cutest thing we've ever heard, we don't know what is.
Ask us what the best part of any camping trip is, and the answer might surprise you. Hikes are nice. Panoramic views, too. Swimming, spotting animals, marveling at natural landmarks — all great. But what we really love about the great outdoors is cooking — and eating — there. Everything just tastes better at camp. The only problem is cooking can be a bit of a hassle unless you've invested in all the right equipment. If you have an outdoors enthusiast in your family or group of friends, this compact, 22-inch outdoor griddle can't miss. It's ideal for burgers, vegetables, fried eggs, blueberry pancakes and any fish they might happen to catch. Plus, it comes with a case that makes it easy to pack and bring along. You can practically smell the memories they'll make.
Chances are you know someone who loves to grill and entertain on their deck. Do they pack it all in once the weather turns cool? Give them the gift of an extended season — and score invites to parties all year — with a restaurant-quality outdoor heating lamp. This sturdy propane powered model puts off 48K BTUs of warmth (that might be more than their grill!) and is a cinch to ignite and refill. It also has reassuring safety features like an anti-tip design and a thermocouple to prevent gas leaks. There's even a small surface to set down drinks. Just add food and drinks, and cue the fun for 2023.

KOCHI, India (Reuters) -More than 80 people were wounded in India as villagers protesting to halt construction of the $900-million Vizhinjam port project by India's Adani Group clashed with police in Kerala state, the latest escalation in a months-long strike. The protests, by a mostly Christian fishing community against the project led by billionaire Gautam Adani's $23-billion ports business, have forced the latter to stop work on the port, seen as a potential and lucrative rival to those in Dubai, Singapore and Sri Lanka. Over the weekend, police arrested some protesters who blocked Adani's construction vehicles from entering the port, despite a court order for work to resume.
