SHAH ALAM, May 20 ― A PKR Youth delegate told off PAS today for announcing that it will seek to seize the Batu seat, that is traditionally contested by PKR ever since 2008.

In the wing's congress here, Federal Territories (FT) delegate Ahmad Azri Zainal Nor said PAS had lost its deposit during the 1986 general elections, and is set to repeat the same fate if it goes against PKR in a three-corner fight.

“All this while, we have been patient, trying to preserve the sacred relationship. But what do we get? They are even trying to take our seat,” he said, in a veiled reference towards PAS.

“If they want Batu, bring it on!” Ahmad Azri said to cheers from the over 300 delegates.

On Monday, FT PAS commissioner Mohamad Noor Mohamad announced that the Islamist party aims to contest nine seats in the territory, including Batu that is currently held by PKR's Chua Tian Chang, also known as Tian Chua.

In Election 2013, Chua won the seat with a 13,284 majority, an increase over his 9,455 majority in the 12th general election of 2008.
