Wanyama named EPL African Player of the Month

Victory for Tottenham would guarantee they finish above the Gunners for the first time in English Premier League era

Harambee Stars captain Victor Wanyama has been named the best Africa player in English Premier League for January.

According to organizers, New African Soccer, the midfielder has beaten Chelsea winger Victor Moses and Manchester City attacking midfielder Yaya Toure to the recognition.

Wanyama featured for the North London side in all the four matches played in January. He was instrumental in their 2-0 win against Chelsea, 4-0 triumph against West Bromwich Albion, 2-2 draw against Manchester City and 0-0 draw against Sunderland.
