Boca Juniors' training session on Tuesday was marred by a scuffle between Juan Insaurralde and Jonathan Silva before they were separated by team-mates.
The two defenders got into a heated argument over an incident on the training pitch of Boca's training complex of Casa Amarilla, with the pair trading blows.
Team-mates watched on for a short moment in disbelief before dragging them apart, with coach Guillermo Schelotto then seen banishing them from the pitch and training.
The mood at Boca has dipped since their 3-1 friendly defeat to Aldosivi, with the tension getting the better of the players as they prepare for the Argentine league season, which is expected to return in March after a summer break prolonged by disputes over television rights between clubs and the Argentine Football Association (AFA).
Boca currently have a three-point lead over second-placed Newell's Old Boys.
