Watch the first trailer for 'Magnificent Seven' with Denzel Washington

Sony has released a new trailer for the remake of "Magnificent Seven," starring Denzel Washington, Chris Pratt and Ethan Hawke.

Desperate to get out from under the control of a ruthless industrialist played by Peter Sarsgaard, the townspeople of Rose Creek hire seven outlaws, bounty hunters, gamblers and hired guns to free their town.

The group of seven mercenaries prepares for a violent showdown, and find themselves fighting for more than just money.

Also starring in the film are Vincent D'Onofrio, Byung-Hun Lee, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo and Martin Sensmeier.

"The Magnificent Seven" marks the third time Washington and director Antoine Fuqua have worked together, after "Training Day" and "The Equalizer."

"The Magnificent Seven" hits theaters Sept. 23, 2016.
