Reese Witherspoon Is Totally Madeline Mackenzie 2.0 in the New ‘Little Fires Everywhere’ Trailer

If you loved Big Little Lies, then we highly recommend you imbibe the new trailer for Reese Witherspoon and Kerry Washington’s upcoming series, Little Fires Everywhere.

Hulu just dropped the first full-length official trailer for the upcoming TV show, which is based on Celeste Ng’s 2017 best-selling book of the same name, and it’s seriously juicy. There’s a mysterious new neighbor (Washington), a budding romance and, as the title suggests, a fire. Plus, did we mention that Witherspoon is basically Madeline Martha Mackenzie reincarnated? Seriously, what’s not to love?

The trailer opens on Elena Richardson (Witherspoon), who barely escaped a dangerous fire in her family’s home. Although the Richardson children believe the arsonist was their sister, Izzy, there’s far more to the story than meets the eye.

“Someone burned down your house with you inside,” the police detective says in the clip. “Elena, do you know anyone that would do this?”

In a flashback, we’re introduced to the chain of events that led to the blaze. It all starts when Elena rents the upstairs portion of her home to a seemingly nice woman, Mia (Washington), and her teenage daughter. She invites them into her home, her family and her life. But Elena soon learns that Mia is running from a dark past that is bound to catch up with her…and anyone she’s associated with. “We all have parts that scare us,” Mia says to her daughter. “Parts that we run from. Parts that we’re afraid to look at.”

Big Little Lies meets Sharp Objects? Guess we’ll be tuning into the season premiere of Little Fires Everywhere on March 18 on Hulu.
