How to Watch 'Mrs. America,' the Acclaimed Drama About the ERA Starring Cate Blanchett
Mrs. America landed with a splash last spring, following a steady stream of (largely positive) advance press. And what with its stacked cast (Cate Blanchett! Uzo Aduba! Sarah Paulson! Too many more to list!), timely subject matter, and an Emmy-winning creator (Mad Men alum Dahvi Waller), it's hardly surprising that the miniseries enjoyed so much attention during its original run—or that it would go on to earn awards season recognition, with Aduba winning an Emmy for her turn as Shirley Chisholm (on top of the show's nine other Emmy nominations), and Blanchett earning a Golden Globe nomination for her role.
But it's not at all too late to join the Mrs. America bandwagon—especially now that the whole limited series is available to binge. Here's how to watch the show.
It's streaming on Hulu, as a part of "FX on Hulu."
Early this year, FX revealed that four of its spring shows, including Mrs. America—would debut on Hulu exclusively, as a part of a new "FX on Hulu" program. And going forward, "Hulu will be the most comprehensive streaming service for FX content," FX CEO John Landgraf told reporters in January, per the Hollywood Reporter.
Landgraf believes this partnership with Hulu will allow the channel to grow its reach, without sacrificing the limited, curated nature of its content. "We hit a ceiling because basic cable can't go beyond its own ceiling," he explained. "Even though we're in 85 million homes, it's not growing in terms of usage and expansion. FX on Hulu allows us to aggregate the strength of linear channels with a new 30 million homes. I think it will make the FX brand more valuable, [as it will] penetrate deeper into American culture."
Yes, that means it's an FX show that is not on FX.
Instead, anyone with a Hulu subscription can access the show—and the rest of FX's library. Unlike with many of Hulu's partnerships—like those with Disney+ and HBO—accessing FX on Hulu doesn't require an add-on subscription.
