If you're looking to get into HBO's cult hit Succession—maybe because of its copious rave reviews, or to oblige a friend who's been pestering you to watch it for years, or simply to understand the show's endless Twitter memes—there's never been a better time. HBO has opened up the Succession floodgates, making it available to watch for the first time ever without a subscription.
Below, all the details on how to watch Succession—even after the paywall goes back up.
For a (presumably) limited time, the acclaimed series can be accessed free of charge.
Amid the ongoing coronavirus outbreak, HBO has made several of its original series available to stream without a subscription, including Succession.
Viewers can access the show on the channel's HBO GO and HBO NOW platforms without forking over the regular monthly fee. They can also stream Succession on "participating distribution partners’ platforms in the coming days," per a press release. (So although it's already on HBO's proprietary services for free, it sounds like some other services that carry the show may lag in making it available.)
In normal times, there are still plenty of options for streaming Succession.
Like all HBO shows, Succession can be accessed digitally in several ways. It's of course available on HBO GO and HBO NOW for those with the pertinent subscriptions; other options include adding an HBO subscription to a Hulu plan or Amazon Prime Video account ($15.99/month each, after a free trial) and buying individual episodes or seasons through the usual host of services, including Amazon, Google Play, YouTube TV, and iTunes.
