The trailer for "A United Kingdom" has been released, starring David Oyelowo and Rosamund Pike.
The drama is based on a true story about Seretse Khama, the first president of Botswana, whose marriage to white British bank clerk Ruth Williams in 1948 shocked the world. At the time, interracial marriage was illegal and Seretse was subsequently forced into exile in England for six years.
The film will play at TIFF and act as the opener of the BFI London Film Festival, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Guy Hibbert adapted the script from Susan Williams' 2007 book, "Colour Bar: The Triumph of Seretse Khama and His Nation."
