Lockdown may have left parents of young children with less access to their support network, and they may also be concerned that their little ones are missing out on important learning opportunities.

We've previously shared information about The Little Gym's gymnastics classes for baby development, and even baby yoga, and now there's another great class to keep up babies' vital development.

Swim school Water Babies has launched free daily online swimming classes and sessions for babies, to help boost their confidence in the water from home, with a focus on wellbeing.

The school has had to hit pause on its vast offering of real life classes, but has channeled its time and effort into a resource for mums and dads to use at home. The classes aim to help parent and baby feel connected, positive and healthy, preparing them both for swimming lessons once lockdown is over. And all of this can be done in paddling pools or the bath at home.

Paul Thompson, Founder of Water Babies, said in the release: “Parents with young children, especially newborns, are always at risk of feeling isolated and now so more than ever. While we’re unable to run our swim sessions as normal at the moment, we wanted to use our fantastic network of relationships and brilliant Water Babies squad to offer fun, engaging, helpful activities for parents and their babies to help them stay connected and learning. It’s open to all and we can’t wait to get started.”

But it won't just be water skills, as experts across the board, from midwives to baby sleep specialists, will be joining the sessions. They'll be held at 2pm daily on Zoom, Instagram and Facebook.

Hannah Mills, Water Babies participant and Pre & Post Natal Personal Trainer, also said in the release: “Lockdown has been really challenging at times. Like many mums, I’ve not been able to have my family and friends around to help out. I’ve also really missed going to our groups and classes, where I usually meet up with other parents to chat and make new friends. It’s amazing to see that Water Babies are doing something to help parents like me feel more connected to others who are in the same boat.”

Tune into the Water Babies Live Sessions at 2pm daily on Zoom, Instagram and Facebook. Details and the daily schedule can be found HERE
