KUALA LUMPUR: Water supply has finally resumed for a majority of city folks today.
According to Syarikat Bekalan Air Selangor (Syabas), as of 3pm, water supply has resumed to all areas in Klang and Shah Alam.
Air Selangor Group corporate communications head Amin Lin Abdullah said only 84 per cent of the affected areas in Kuala Lumpur and 86 per cent of areas in Petaling have received their water supply.
“Water supply in Kuala Lumpur is being restored in stages. The areas include Bukit Damansara, Jalan Setiabistari, Setiarasa, Setiaraya, Setiajaya, Medan Setua and Jalan Setiamurni.
“Meanwhile, areas in Petaling that are still waiting for water supply to be fully restored are parts of Kelana Jaya, PJU10 and PJU1, Damansara Damai, Saujana Damansara, Damansara Utama, Damansara Jaya, Ara Damansara, Subang Jaya, Jalan Klang Lama, Jalan Kuchai Lama, Desa Petaling, Sri Petaling and Sungai Besi.
Amin said efforts was being undertaken to speed up the restoration of the water supply to areas that are experiencing low water pressure.
“Relief water supply was also being delivered via water tankers to the affected areas until water supply is fully restored,” he said.
